P4P2021: Brunch delivered

Aug 2021

Donors, Sponsors & Brunch Partners

As always, proceeds from ticket sales, sponsorships and donations go toward supporting Parkinson’s research. Since 2019, proceeds from the event have been directed toward the Parkinson’s Research Excellence Fund at the Edmond J. Safra Program at Krembil Brain Institute, Toronto Western Hospital, UHN.

This year, however, we are keenly aware that the pandemic has hit the hospitality industry particularly hard, so we have introduced the Brunch Partners opportunity to show our support for Toronto’s culinary community.

Donations

Charitable receipts are handled through the University Health Network (UHN) Foundation, Porridge for Parkinson’s Toronto charity partner.

Sponsorship

Every sponsor’s contribution goes a long way toward raising funds for Parkinson’s research. Porridge for Parkinson’s Toronto has established many successful sponsorships over the years, but we acknowledge that industries have been hard hit so we are offering a limited number of bespoke sponsorships this year.

Sponsor names are displayed on all event materials, including invitations, letterhead, and media releases. There are also opportunities for recognition on the website, in newsletters, and through our social media.

Additional benefits include four complimentary brunches.

Brunch Partners

From hotels and attractions to retail, tour operators and the culinary community, it’s been a devastating time for the businesses that rely on visitors. In fact, Destination Toronto conducted an analysis that showed the impact of the pandemic after one year resulted in $14.3 billion in lost economic activity across the GTA.

Recognizing the impact, we have made a shift from donations to partnerships. In previous years, chefs, restaurants, bakeries, and others generously dedicated their time, kitchens, and ingredients, which just isn’t possible given the impact of the pandemic. A portion of the proceeds from the event will also be used to cover these costs.
