David Mattachioni
Mattachioni
David Mattachioni opened his first Italian trattoria with the hopes of making the world a better place, one pizza at a time. Mattachioni had been the pizzaiolo at Terroni and decided to open his own small bakery and pizzeria on Dupont in 2015, later expanding with the help of his family and friends to Gerrard St East in January 2021. Operating a take-out, bodega style shop and churning out fresh sourdough loaves during the lockdowns, he hopes to return to the classic sit down restaurant soon. At Mattachioni, they bake their own loaves of bread, prepare fresh meals, pick up their own produce, and give away their sourdough starter! A one-stop shop with two locations – 1617 Dupont St and 1501 Gerrard St East.

Forbes Wild Foods
Forbes Wild Foods supplies wild, hand-picked foods that are sustainably harvested from the Canadian wilderness by trained, knowledgeable pickers. Forbes suppliers practice progressive harvesting methods — ones that are both sustainable for its neighbouring plant species and surrounding ecosystem; and for the pickers themselves, whose livelihood is supported by a thriving source of wild foods. Only wild foods that grow in great abundance and whose survival is not in danger are considered for harvest. Forbes also works to help propagate rare wild food plants by reintroducing them to lands that need remedial attention.
