A tour and update on UHN’s Parkinson’s research

On May 23 2019, Porridge for Parkinson’s guests enjoyed a reception and engaging tour of the Parkinson’s research facilities at the Krembil Brain Institute, Toronto Western Hospital, UHN. Dr Anthony Lang, Dr Alphonso Fasano, and Dr Antonio Strafella provided fascinating talks and demonstrations of their current research projects.

In the video below, Alfonso explains how CRANIA’s new gait analysis lab at Toronto Western Hospital uses immersive lab technology to help patients with Parkinson’s disease. The project is a product of close collaboration between researchers at the Krembil Brain Institute and the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute.

We would like to thank the doctors and the University Health Network, UHN Foundation, for hosting this special event. Thanks also to Stircrazy Catering and Joanne Yolles for the delicious food.
