It’s time to raise awareness and funds for groundbreaking research into the cause and cure for Parkinson’s Disease
The first Porridge for Parkinson’s breakfast in Toronto was held in 2009, and together, we have raised over $1 million in net proceeds thanks to hundreds of generous sponsors, donors and guests, a committed team of volunteers, and of course, the incredible chefs who make this a delicious event.

Evergreen Brick Works
Our new venue, Evergreen Brick Works, is an iconic, award-winning indoor/outdoor event space located in the centre of the city. Nestled in Toronto’s lush ravines in a setting of awe-inspiring heritage buildings, the expansive light-filled interior space opens to an airy outdoor courtyard. It’s the perfect place for our community to gather together again. The Brick Works is located at 550 Bayview Avenue.
Jeanne Beker — Emcee extraordinaire
We are delighted to announce that Jeanne Beker will be gracing our stage as emcee once again in 2023. Jeanne has been a longtime friend of Porridge for Parkinson’s. Her lovely mother, Bronia Beker, attended our brunch many times.
Fifth Element Jazz — Musical guests
This year, we are pleased to welcome the popular Toronto-based quintet, Fifth Element Jazz as our musical guests. Fifth Element features vocalist Nina Richmond backed by Jack Gelbloom on piano, Ron Johnston on bass, Glenn Anderson on drums and Dave Coules on tenor sax. The members of Fifth Element bring rich and diverse backgrounds to performance within the jazz genre.
Celebrity chefs 2023
Our longtime partner chefs Jamie Kennedy and Joanne Yolles, are back again to prepare their famous brunch specialties along with Donna Dooher (Mildred’s Temple Kitchen) and Sandra Katsiou (Baker and Scone).
We are excited to announce that Paula Navarette will be a participating chef this year, along with Toronto’s favourite Food Dudes and Toben Food by Design. And following our brunch delivery success in 2021 and 2022 we welcome to our main event Chocolat de Kat, Lev Bakery, Robinson Bread, Primrose Bagel and The Honest Leaf. Welcome all!
